Welcome to the Barcelona United Recreational Soccer Program

While we are a recreational program, the program is supported and led by the professional coaching staff at Barcelona United.  We will have high school soccer players and parent volunteer coaches that are provided with professionally designed training curriculum and practice sessions that will ensure players have fun while developing individual technical skills as they build a love for the game.  Volunteer coaches are also provided with all of the equipment required to make sure your child gets the most out of our programming!  Our practice sessions will be led by our club coaches and high school soccer players.  The parent volunteer coaches will assist the lead coaches in practice sessions.  The parent volunteer coaches will be coaching the teams on the sidelines during games.

• U3/U4 Division: $85 
• U5/U6 Division: $95 
• U7/U8 Division: $95 

Programming for the 2025-2026 soccer year is broken into 3 age-based divisions: U3/U4 (2022 & 2023 birth years), U5/U6 (2020 & 2021 birth years) and U7/U8 (2018 & 2019 birth years).  Details specific to each age group are outlined below:

U3/U4: For most players this will be the first step into organized sports.  The primary focus in this age group is to introduce players to the sport of soccer.  Our curriculum allows children to experience a well-rounded approach to establishing the many critical characteristics that go into athletic success.  It all begins with FUN, and focuses on building confidence, social skills, group dynamics, agility, spatial awareness, coordination, fitness, self-esteem, listening skills and much more!

This age group will meet once a week on Saturday's at 9:00am or Sunday's at 11:00am for 8 weeks for 45 to 50 minutes.  All sessions will be held at Busey Road Park.

U5/U6: The priority at these young ages is on individual player development in a fun and rewarding environment.  This age group is where we introduce a training environment as well as a "competitive" game atmosphere.  One time per week, practice sessions will be led by our club coaches and high school soccer players.  The parent volunteer coaches will assist the lead coaches in practice sessions.  The parent volunteer coaches will be coaching the teams on the sidelines during games.  Players will also participate in eight 40 minute long games on Saturday mornings during the season.  Our curriculum focuses on age appropriate activities and creating a child centered learning environment where individual technical skill comes before team tactics.

This age group will have one 60 minute practice on Monday or Wednesday evening.  Games will be played Saturday's at 10:30am and Sunday's at 12:30pm at Busey Road Park.

U7/U8: This program is a continuation of our player development curriculum.  The primary focus for this group will still be individual technical development, however tactical concepts will be introduced and developed.  One time per week, Our practice sessions will be led by our club coaches and high school soccer players.  The parent volunteer coaches will assist the lead coaches in practice sessions.  The parent volunteer coaches will be coaching the teams on the sidelines during games.  Players will also participate in eight 50 minute long games on Saturday mornings during the season.  Our curriculum focuses on age appropriate activities and creating a child centered learning environment where individual technical skill comes before team tactics. 

This age group will have one 60 minute practice on Monday or Wednesday evening.  Games will be played Saturday's at 12:00pm and Sunday's at 2:00pm at Busey Road Park.
